Change of Season, But Keep That Positive Summer Attitude

As the days grow shorter, the nights darker, and the chill settles in, it’s easy to feel like the warmth of summer is slipping away. The shift in seasons can impact our mood—something we all feel. Enter hygge, the Scandinavian concept of coziness, encouraging us to huddle inside with blankets and hot drinks. And while we’re all for a cozy moment, there’s something powerful about keeping your energy alive through movement as the colder months set in.

The goal here? Let’s warm you up from the inside out!

Shift Your Mindset: Cosy Meets Active
It all starts with your mindset. Yes, curling up inside sounds wonderful, but there’s another way to bring warmth into your life—through connection, movement, and mindfulness. Think of it as syncing your mind and body, turning both on to the same page, especially when the weather outside makes you feel like hitting pause.

Start slow. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and listen to what your body is telling you. Imagine sending warm, comforting energy to any areas that feel tight, cold, or tense. Breathe deeply and intentionally. This simple act can start to ignite a sense of inner warmth, reminding you that you control how you feel.

Positive Self-Talk: Your Inner Glow
Once you’ve taken that moment to connect, shift your focus to words—positive ones. Think of mantras or phrases that inspire you, words like "strength," "confidence," or "energy." How can you carry these feelings through your day, your workouts, and your moments of stillness? Positive self-talk has the power to transform not only your mood but also how you move and show up in your daily life.

The Power of Movement: Confidence, Empowerment, Connection
Just last Friday, we hosted a group of women for a Pilates session. At the start, everyone it seemed some were a bit unsure about the class but by the end of the class, a powerful shift had happened. Words like "confidence," "empowered," and "connected" came up as they described how they felt after moving.

This is the magic of movement—it changes everything. It lifts your spirits, brings back that summer glow, and reminds you that your body is strong, capable, and alive.

Embrace Movement This Season
Instead of retreating into hibernation mode, lean into the season with a fresh perspective. Yes, it’s colder, but let that be the reason to move, to stretch, to feel that internal fire. Whether it’s through a Pilates class, a brisk walk, or simply stretching at home, embrace movement as a way to keep that summer energy alive in the colder months.

Keep moving. Keep glowing. Summer might be over, but your inner warmth doesn’t have to be.
