You are Brave, but how?

You are Brave, but how?

This week we’re diving into a word that’s often saved for superheroes, first-time skydivers, or toddlers facing the dark  brave.

But here’s the thing: being brave isn’t always about grand gestures or big leaps. Sometimes, being brave is simply saying yes to something new. It’s signing up for a class you’ve never done before. It’s showing up when your confidence is a little shaky. It’s putting yourself first, even if your mind is full of doubts.

So what is brave, really?

Brave is personal. Brave looks different on everyone. And brave is often quieter than you’d expect.

We praise kids for being brave  trying broccoli, saying hello to a new friend, jumping into a swimming pool. But as adults, we forget that bravery still plays a massive role in our everyday lives. We just don’t give ourselves enough credit for it.

Why bravery matters in wellness

Bravery is the spark that gets us moving. It’s the fire that pushes us out of our comfort zone and into the gym, onto the yoga mat, or out the door in our trainers. And when we take that brave step, we usually find something magical waiting on the other side: pride, confidence, clarity  and a big ol’ boost to our mental and physical wellbeing.

You don’t have to run a marathon (unless that’s your thing). You don’t have to be the fittest, fastest, or strongest in the room. You just have to be willing to try.

So how do we actually be brave?

Here are 5 small-but-mighty steps to help you flex your bravery muscle:

1. Acknowledge the fear

Say it out loud or write it down. “I’m nervous to try this.” That’s okay. Fear is often the first sign that something matters.

2. Start small

Your brave act might be going for a 10-minute walk, joining a fitness class online, or walking through the doors of a new gym. Tiny steps build strong momentum.

3. Remind yourself of your ‘why’

Why do you want to feel better? Why do you want to move your body more? Keep that reason front and centre it’ll pull you through the wobbly moments.

4. Celebrate every win

Did you show up? Did you try something new? Did you stretch your comfort zone? That’s a win. Bravery deserves a fist bump or at least a dance in your kitchen.

5. Surround yourself with encouragement

That’s what we’re here for. The Mardy Bum Active Club community is full of brave babes just like you, all cheering each other on. You don’t have to do it alone.

Feel free to write how you were brave, share on our social post

or even tag us on sharing your Brave moves.

Thank you for reading it is important for us to share our journeys and keep inspiring and encouraging each other as a club x
