Be More Confident, How exercise can help
Hi
I’m Anna, and today I want to talk a little bit about confidence. I host events that combine movement with social networking, helping people connect both physically and socially. At the start of every session, I ask participants to take a moment to reflect on how they're feeling and to write down a word that comes to mind. At the end of the session, we do the same exercise, and one word tends to come up often: confidence.

Hearing this always makes me so happy because, for me, movement is a game-changer for building confidence. Whether it's yoga, a dance class, or a workout session, movement has a transformative effect not just on your body but also on your mindset.
As a Pilates instructor, I see firsthand how the way we hold ourselves can reflect and build our confidence. Physical activity naturally opens up the body: shoulders back, chest open, and an upright stance. This shift in posture not only makes us look more confident but also helps us *feel* it. Studies show that standing tall can have a direct impact on feeling empowered and self-assured.
Confidence also comes from achieving goals, big or small. When you commit to regular movement or exercise, you start to see tangible progress—lifting heavier, nailing a tricky yoga pose, or simply moving with more ease. Each accomplishment is a reminder of what you’re capable of, reinforcing the belief that if you can overcome physical challenges, you can tackle other obstacles in life too. The more you witness your body’s capabilities, the more you start to trust yourself to take on whatever comes your way.
Let’s not forget the emotional benefits! Movement is a great stress reliever, a way to release those feel-good endorphins, and a moment to clear your mind. Reducing stress and elevating your mood naturally contribute to a greater sense of self-assurance and happiness. Moving your body helps release negative emotions and leaves you feeling strong and centred.
Bringing people together is a big part of what makes my events special. The encouragement, high-fives, and shared experiences within a class can be truly empowering. Being surrounded by like-minded people who are all working on self-improvement fosters a sense of community, support, and belonging—all of which can significantly boost your self-esteem and confidence.
Stepping into a class, moving your body, and challenging yourself physically isn’t just about fitness; it’s about building resilience, confidence, and a deeper mind-body connection. Every session is a chance to prove to yourself that with focus and effort, you can achieve more than you ever imagined.
So, if you’re feeling low or need a confidence boost, remember: movement is a powerful tool to help you stand tall, feel strong, and face the world with renewed belief in yourself. Take that step, move your body, and watch your confidence grow. 💪✨
