Wellness is not as simple as a tick list...

Here we go again:

The January Wellness To Do list:

Do everything better...

Health and wellness advice is everywhere. From what to eat to how to exercise, how many plants we should eat per week, or whether we should swear by supplements—it’s an avalanche of information. And while it can be empowering to have knowledge at our fingertips, tbh it can also be completely overwhelming.

After the indulgent holiday season of December, many of us feel the weight of January's expectations. The "New Year, New You" mantra, coupled with the post-Christmas blues, can create a sense of pressure to go bigger, better, and stronger. For some (myself included), it can make you want to throw in the towel before even getting started. But here’s the thing: that’s okay.

Why? Wellness is not one dimensional, we have to learn to adapt and evolve and forever realise that what works for one person might not be the same for another. It’s not just about what you eat, how much you exercise, or whether you tick off every wellness trend on social media. True health comes from understanding your own body—and that’s a deeply personal journey.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of immersing myself in a lifestyle where exercise and home cooking are second nature. I’ve learned what my body needs, the training that works for me, and the foods that fuel me without leaving me feeling sluggish. But here’s the catch: it didn’t come from a rulebook or a TikTok trend. It came from knowing my body and enjoying the process.

You can read every wellness book, listen to every podcast, or follow every fitness influencer out there, but if you don’t understand your unique body, you’re unlikely to find that elusive balance.

For women especially, our bodies are constantly evolving. Hormonal changes, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, ageing—all of these are transformative phases that require us to listen and adapt. What worked for you in your 20s might feel completely unsustainable in your 30s or 40s, and that’s okay. Wellness isn’t static—it’s about tuning into your body as it changes and meeting it where it’s at.

Rather than forcing yourself into a rigid routine that doesn’t feel good, start small. Pay attention to what makes you feel energseed versus drained. Does a certain workout leave you feeling strong or completely depleted? Is your diet supporting your mood and digestion? Wellness isn’t about perfection; it’s about making choices that align with how you feel in the moment.

The start of a new year often feels like the perfect time to hit the reset button. But instead of viewing January as the time to go “all in” and overhaul every aspect of your routine, why not take it slow? Remind yourself that you are on your own Journey.

Here is how we can help you help yourself::
Tune into your body: Take note of how you feel after meals, workouts, and even moments of rest. Your body is constantly communicating with you.
Let go of comparison: What works for someone else might not work for you, and that’s okay. Focus on what feels right for *you*.
Celebrate small wins: Whether it’s drinking more water, getting an extra hour of sleep, or enjoying a walk outdoors—every positive choice matters.
Allow for flexibility: Some days you’ll crush a workout, and other days a walk or yoga session might feel like enough. Both are valid.

Wellness is not about rigid routines, diets, or following someone else’s blueprint for health. It’s about learning to trust yourself, to adapt as life changes, and to find joy in the process. Balance is key, being consistent and take your time to find your groove.

So, as we ease into this new year, let’s ditch the pressure to be perfect and focus on what really matters: living well in a way that feels good for you. Wellness isn’t one-dimensional, and neither are you.
